This was a split batch. We created a five gallon batch. Then we put salt and coriander on half of it to create a Gose. We took the other half and put four pounds of raspberry puree on it to create a raspberry sour (see Blowing Raspberries). This really isn’t our style. Since we emptied the beer cooler for Lunar Rendezbrew 29, we have a nice opportunity to knock out some lagered beers. So we jumped into this German Pilsner. Since we emptied the beer cooler for Lunar Rendezbrew 29, we have a nice opportunity to knock out some lagered beers. So we jumped into this German Pilsner. We specifically brewed this beer as part of the Austin Zealot’s Inquisition competition. Their eleventh category is the Crusade. It specifies that the beer be 11 SRM and 11 IBU. We should be really close here on the SRM. The IBU, well… we didn’t want to go that low, as we still want to drink this beer and not have it be bland.
