This beer is the Yoda’s Yuletide from 2019. It’s our first attempt to replicate a beer. We swore we wouldn’t do Yoda’s Yuletide again, as it pushes our current system to its limits. However, when your mom says she really likes that beer and wants it for Christmas, you do what you need to do to make mom happy. Kentucky common beer is a once-popular style of ale from the area in and around Louisville, Kentucky from the 1850s until Prohibition. This style is rarely brewed commercially today. It was also locally known as dark cream common beer, cream beer or common beer. The beer was top-fermented and was krausened up to 10% making it quite highly carbonated. Mac could defuse a bomb with a paper clip or build a hang glider with satellite parts. Around the beer brewing equipment, we find ourselves often having to pull a MacGyver to stop a leak or solve other beer brewing problems. This beer disappeared quickly as we enjoyed it immensely. Make no mistake about it, this beer was smooth and easy drinking. The style is “irish red ale”, however, it’s a bit on the dark side color wise.  A tribute to Bob Ross, the Joy of Painting, and the hours of trees and whispy clouds he painted on tv in my childhood.
